| Okay guys, Ero and I now have our hands full again with a few hundred players on Haven, so we can't keep an eye on Free as well as I'd like... so we need some eyes and ears to do it for us!
We're looking for anyone who wants to act as our "police force", keeping the peace, making sure everyone follows the TOS, and taking video and SS evidence of those who are cheating. Anyone who volunteers for this position will be doing exactly that- volunteering. There are no rewards, other than a cool blue-named "GM" toon (with limited powers- no spawning items/mobs, of course); and we can't even compensate you with points or items because... well, everything's free for everyone. lol
So anyone who volunteers needs to be the kind of person who just wants the server to be clean for everyone, and who is willing to put in a little bit of work to make it a better place (not much work, as you aren't even required to do events or anything, just to bust cheaters and rule-breakers).
Here's the rundown of a FreeShaiya GS's responsibilities:
- Keep verbal fights from breaking out on public chats
- Decide where "the line" is, regarding what's appropriate to be said on public chats
- Mediate arguments and come to peaceful resolutions
- Stop and/or silence anyone who breaks the rules when it's right to do so (and let them go when they understand what they did wrong)
- Follow player reports, and take video/SS evidence of "hackers", cheaters, and those who break the rules
- NEVER PvP on a blue toon (to avoid claims of "favoritism" or "cheating" on the GS's part)
Now, GSes will have a "blue" toon with a [GS] tag, with limited "GM" abilities- they can move on players, go invisible and turn off attackability, move to any map, stop players' movement, and silence players. They CANNOT summon players, spawn anything (mobs, NPCs, or items), set any stats or levels (not even their own), or make notices. It's basically the ability to "police", but not to give any sort of advantage over regular players.
And really, that's it. So again, before you sign up, remember that this job is a volunteer position, and your reward will be a clean server and grateful, honest players- nothing more. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
